February 4th,2010
  • CCSA Organized an Open Day with M. H. Al Shaya W.L.L who came to promote Internship opportunities to GUST students.           
  • The main objective was to offer support and guidance to interested candidates. Students met Al Shaya team of experienced recruiters who helped in developing students’ interview style and guided them through what employers are really looking for from candidates. Al Shaya internship program constitute of 25 hours a week for a period of 3 months.
March 17th, 2010

March 22nd, 2010:
  • CCSA organized a career guidance lecture called “Meet the Challenge” presented by Manpower and Government Restructuring Program (MGRP) to GUST. The lecture illustrated the importance of career guidance and what are the disciplines required in the labor market and the advantages of working in the private sector and how to make the right decisions for the post of the future. The lecture also included important information on how to win an interview in addition to basic CV writing techniques. A competition has been concluded where winner students received tokens from MGRP.
May 5th and 6th, 2010
  • A two-day “Spring 2010 Job Fair “ organized by The Center of career Services & Alumni (CCSA) for the 7th time. The event received a huge success featuring 40 employers offering vacancies and career opportunities. This job fair’s success stems in mere collaboration of 5 Sponsors – National Bank of Kuwait, Gulf Bank, Burgan Bank, Wataniya Telecome and Kuwait Small Projects Company. The event aimed to bring together private and public sector where alumni and students were able to meet with many employers that were hiring for Full time, Part time and Internship. Such an exclusive event designed for alumni and students as an opportunity that give employers an efficient means of filling job vacancies by on-the-spot screening and recruiting, while introducing themselves as a desirable place to work and promoting their company. Moreover, as defined by Dr. Osama, the job fair is an active employment strategy to fast-track the meeting of job seekers and employers. 
May 5th, 2010
  • CCSA published the issue No. 0 of GUST Alumni Newsletter. This newsletter has been created to help keep our graduates connected, engaged, and involved with GUST through the centre of Career Services and Alumni. Through the GUST Alumni Newsletter, CCSA hope to maintain open communication with alumni in order to keep them informed of GUST news and developments and to hear what they are up to; improve and extend the academic and career support; and create new means for them to stay involved with GUST through new job opportunities, events, and field programs specifically designed for GUST alumni.     
May 2010 All arrangements for GUST summer internship program have been completed. Companies have been contacted and training spots are confirmed and enrolled students will join customized training on June 27th for 6 training weeks (5 hours a day). CCSA only selected those companies where our students will receive quality value added training.      
May 2010 CCSA is currently in the final stage to announce “GUST Alumni Association”.

Institutions: 26 host institutions

 

           

       

Internships add invaluable on-the-job experience to our students' professional curriculum vitae and give them the practical training needed to make a smooth and successful transition from University life to the workplace .

Students will be required to provide weekly reports that outline their activities and accomplished tasks at work. Upon completion of the course, students will also be required to give a presentation to faculty members summarizing their work and its relation to their course of  study.
